WE ARE Getting Ready to Rock and Roll!

So it appears we are going to spend lots of time together on this journey from where we are now, to the magical land of graduation. Our trip will likely be full of peculiar scents, awful (yet tasteful) jokes, and varying vernacular. All of which, I am excited to share with you. But before you jump in this buggy with me, let me give you the run down of who you're working with.

Holding a woodpecker!
I'm Homegrown

I currently live in Runville, which is about 25 minutes away from State College in the sticks of Centre County. I enjoy the simple life of watching birds on feeders, hiking in the mountains, and sharing grateful laughter with my friends and family.

For what it's worth, I know how to be a brother. That's because I have two incredible older siblings, Dale (24), and Ariona (29). For the record, my sister is now permanently 29, because she will likely never be okay with being the ripe-old-age of 30. My brother skills came from Dale, who is undoubtedly the first best friend I ever had.

My roots

I also know how to be a servant. That's because I have an awesome mom who has gifted me in areas of hospitality and boldness only exhibited by individuals who are unashamed to be their most genuine self. This, coupled with faith for "if there is a will, there is a way" is what makes my mom, Christine, who she is. These qualities make room for an unreal strength only mothers possess. And I'm not being facetious about any of this (inside joke).

I'm a Fan of Fun

Maybe hiking isn't your thing. That's totally okay, because I like other non-nature stuff too! If you like singing, dancing and random bursts of song, I may be your guy. Something I like to do is take instrumental music and put my own words to it. Sometimes it comes out Hip-Hop, other times it comes out as me singing some mumbled-jumbled tune I vibe with at the moment.

Okay, this is nature stuff but I also like being out on the water to fish, kayak, and swim. My grandparents used to take my siblings and I camping, so I tend to associate these things with fond family memories. This year, I got into hunting which was really neat. I didn't get anything (obviously because I can't stay quiet for long), but it was great bonding time with my pap. So, if you want to go shoot "boom-boom sticks", as my favorite sister calls them, let me know and we can hit the range.

At Shaver's Creek

I also recently started to get into some woodworking. Admittedly, all the men in my family are really good at it, so I felt a desire to at least try. Don't let me build your house, but I can build you a podium which I did for my work at Shaver's Creek Environmental Center.

That leads me to my last point. I love the work I do. Whether it's at school, Shaver's Creek, McDonald's, or the Penn State Dining commons, I enjoy having the opportunity to learn from my co-workers and the tasks at hand. Most notably though, I love weed-whacking. If you've got weeds to whack, I'll be ready to attack.

I'm Ready to Learn

You best believe I'm ready to grease up my gears and learn a thing or two. Likely, that thing is going to come from you. I'm ready to quit playing with my pride, and start doing real work with my humility. If I start actin' a fool, let me know. If I can do better, let me know. If I am selling myself short, let me know. Because when you care enough to say something, it means you believe in me. And at teacher school, they taught me that students learn better when placed in this sort of environment. Even to my peers, I will be your student.

So, this is me.

"This is real, this is me, I'm exactly where I need..."

Sorry, got a little carried away. Actually though, this IS me and I'm eager to discover who you are.

I know our time together will be very rock and roll!

P.S.

If you look at my driving record, I'll likely share all of this information a second time from the backseat.
